Still Photography and Journalism

The students of diploma course on Art of Still Photography are required to use their own 35 mm still and digital camera equipment and the photographic film rolls and get the exposed photographic film developed and printed at their own cost.

Photography is both an art as well as a science and it requires serious and systematic study. An aspirant of a career in this fascinating and paying service industry has to systematically learn the technical and artistic aspects of photography. At Asian Academy of Film & TV, we believe that photography is a performing art and it is best learnt by doing under the watchful eyes of the trainer. Street Photography uses the techniques of Straight Photography

Street photography is a popular form of documentary photography. This form of photography is as popular in India as it is in Europe, America and Australia. A large number of photographic artists in India practice this form of photography and the trend has created some of the classics in the history of Indian photography. The advent of modern cameras with added technological features has contributed much to the acceptance of street photography world wide.

Years between 1890 and 1975 are supposed to be the golden period of street photography. During these years, a large number of classic works were created. It is only during these periods when different portable cameras were introduced. In this regard, the invention of small 35 mm camera deserves special mention. As the word MONO represents – Single color and its various shades. But most commonly, the term is used for B/W photography – with Black to White and all its grades of grey.
Color comprises of three layers – Magenta, Cyan and Green

Monochrome photography is the recording of single color or wavelength of light.
